| Well, I've been keeping this under my hat for about a month... This section will undoubtedly be a bit for my family :) |

| Monday, May 24th, 2004, I'll be starting at NCSoft as their Character Technical Director, or Character TD, for short. I hadn't even considered a new job, as I really enjoy the one I'm leaving (most of the time!) at Savage Entertainment. However, NCSoft made me a great offer, and I'll be with some friends from college, and I'll have a ton of creative control over the whole system and how everything operates. They want me to redo their whole system in a way I see fit! I'm gonna make it shine! |

| I'm sure you all know that many (most?) men like to tinker with something like say, a hot rod, fixing it up, polishing it, listening to the engine purr. That's how I am with computer systems and pipelines and artist tools/pathways. I like to get it all well-oiled and humming, so this is going to be a great and fun job. I'll be glad for a little break from all the artistic side of things. I'm just too technical. I'll probably help out where I can in the artistic department, because I do still have that side to me, and it needs to play once in awhile. Maybe, I'll just store up that creative energy for use on my own projects outside of work. |

Lineage (the game, not the conecpt) is absolutely crazy go-nuts huge in Korea, and it's doing very well in America, and now there's Lineage II. This is an online game, where you can give up your real life and live online, forming friendships, getting a job, fighting, etc. It's not for me, but I don't mind contributing to the problem. This is City of Villains, sequel to the popular City of Heroes, that wasn't really made by NCSoft so much as bought and published by them. It's a very EA move, but thankfully, the vibe at this faction of NCSoft, unlike EA, seemed upbeat and friendly. I'm going to work to foster that. |

| Here's the reception area. This one's mostly for mom, 'cause she'll want to see everything :) She's such a great mom! She always gets involved in whatever I'm into. |

| There was a contest to win this souped-up, street-legal dune buggy. I can't remember what game it's from, but I'll know all of this stuff soon. |

According to my sources, Lineage is unfathomably big in Korea, with something like 60% of the populace connected to it every night! They actually passed a law there that no one is allowed to play online games after 10pm, because people were sleeping at work, failing out of school - the country was shutting down. Unbelievable. Coke in Korea is running a promotion right now with Lineage characters on the cans, because Coke is a marketing genius. Here's a shot of 2 packs the reception area put up on display. I'm going to be part of this madness in 4 days... Wish me luck! |
